Which file types work?
STL and 3MF are the most common and both are fine. STEP files are best for parts that might need a small change, because they keep the exact geometry. OBJ files work too. If all you have is a photo or a drawing, see 3D design instead.
What happens to my file before it prints?
It is checked for problems that cause failed prints, such as gaps in the mesh, walls too thin to print, and overhangs that need support. The part is oriented so it is strongest in the direction it will be loaded, and the wall thickness and infill are set to suit the job. If anything in the file needs fixing, that is mentioned in the quote.
How big can a part be?
Up to 256 x 256 x 256 mm in one piece. Larger models can often be split into sections that are printed separately and glued or bolted together.
Can it print in more than one colour?
Yes, up to four colours in a single print using the AMS 2 Pro, for files set up with separate colour regions, such as a multi-colour 3MF.
Can you print models I downloaded online?
Models from sites like MakerWorld, Printables and Thingiverse come with a licence chosen by the designer. Many allow personal use only. Those can be printed for your own use, but not sold on, and the licence is checked before a quote is given.
How is it delivered?
Parts are posted anywhere in Australia, or collected from Quinns Rocks by arrangement. Support material is removed and the part is cleaned up before it goes out.
